I was pushed off my bike into the road by three lads, cycling back home. I would have hurt myself if I hadn't been wearing my gloves. I chased after them and caught one, but then didn't know what to do with him. I asked him his name and made him apologise, but then let him go. I got his friend to apologise too. A passing jogger picked up my bike. I can't believe people would push someone into a road with traffic on it.

Probably on a shared use or cycle path next to a road - wait for the OP to respond......

Just the same as being shoved whilst on the road out into traffic.

and yes, you should have called the police. It's not just assault, to push you into traffic i would think would be a very serious offence.

What sort of age were they?

I ask because kids do stupid stuff sometimes. I'm sure you did in your time. Sounds like you made enough of an impression in doing what you did, cathcing them and making them apologise. I'd let it go at that.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of some, there's no need to call police over kids being tw*ts.
