Q. re: SRAM groups

Am buying bikebits for my first 'build' and was thinking of SRAM partly because it appears to be fairly simple to put together different components from the different road groups.

Would it be correct to say mixing parts from rival/force/red was not a problem? (also between '09 and '10 components). I was thinking of getting a few rival components and upgrading later to force or red.

you can mix and match with them as much as you like

AS long as the groupset parts are the same speed ie 10 speed, you won't have any problems

if you're extremely wealthy you can even mix and match SRAM road and MTB bits, if you go with the new XX 10 speed MTB stuff. Or so I've been led to believe. Though info on the SRAM site is pretty poor. The XX stuff is somewhat to the pricey end of things
