quadricep cramps

Hi,

Looking for some help/advice. I've done a few rides now where around 35/40 miles I start to suffer from quad cramps.

I've eaten bananas, drunk fluids and had energy gels but no difference. I have had a recommendation for the high 5 zero tabs for electrolyte replacement which I'll try. Any other advice/ideas/ suggestions?

Should I get off the bike for 5 mins and stretch will that be good or will it all just come back again?

Cannot argue with stretching. In my case, good before I reached 50, now essential. Look up some cycling specific stretches you can do.
