Question about Strida

I have a new job on Monday, which means getting from Reading to the outskirts of Oxford. There's a bus that gets me near there, but I would still have about a mile and a half to go. I have an old Brompton, but I wondered whether it might be easier with a Strida. A Strida seems to be somewhat lighter, and it looks like I could get it on a luggage rack. What do you think?

There is no overhead rack on the bus. I wonder whether I could get even a strida on board. I am pretty sure I could get on with an a-bike, but I am not sure what these would be like to ride any distance.

The A-bike might do. It got a bad write up on AtoB, who criticized the saddle and suggested 8" wheels instead of 6". They redesigned the saddle and now they sell an 8" wheel version. They are not very expensive, and I am pretty sure I could smuggle it onto the bus without complaints, especially as it can be bagged. At the other end I have to cycle about a mile-and-a-half to two miles. A season ticket on the train is about three times as expensive as one for the bus.

I am taking my Brompton on the train. It's not standing room only, Reading to Oxford, so I don't risk too much glare. Using the Brompton saves me about half-an-hour by not having to catch the bus at the station. The main problem is that it gets heavy to lug about. The re-designed concourse at Reading station don't help neither.
