quick question - spacers on inside or outside?

I've just bought a new wheel which fits a 8/9 speed but my bike is only 7 speed and so i ordered a spacer as well.

Does the spacer go on before the cassette or after the casssette?

Spacers should go onto the freehub body before the cassette.

Before the cassette (only cos I saw my husband do this a week ago and that was what the LBS told him), and if the wheel came with a special spacer then that one next to the cassette IIRC.

Wheel on with new cassette and, of course, the spacer.

Didn't take any time at all and the wheel seems so much stronger than the one that came on my Trek. I didn't even need to adjust the rear mech (which i thought i would have to do).

Just need to test it on a short ride tomorrow
