Hello ,
I have a 1980's road bike that I have cut the bars into bullhorns which I am using for commuting (I cut and flipped the bars as one I never use the drops and two the gt levers would not give enough leverage to make the brakes work with chrome rims) I need the bars to be slightly higher so intend to purchase a longer adjustable stem, As I am not at home at the moment I cannot measure it but wondered is there more than one size where it fits into the frame ?

Thanks all.

As raleighnut says there are several, chances are that its a 22.2mm stem with a 25.4 handlebar clamp for the handlebars, If you take it out or even move it up there may be a size printed on it, best thing may be to measure the width and handlebars.

Thanks all, I thought there were different as I once had a fixed wheel Raleigh Road bike that had Later MTB bars fitted I had to shim the stem as it moved under pressure. I'll have a look when I'm home to make sure I get the right size.
