Is mention of "that" sport a bit like mentioning "the Scottish play" to actors?

I enjoyed watching, anyway.

What sport?

Apologies, for "sport" substitute "well-remunerated pastime, if you are good at it".

There's a bit about it in the newspapers today, m'lud.

I'm assuming there's a thread on the 'waste of a good walk pastime'.

I must have the originator on ignore however as I don't see one

I turned it off at about 10pm once Speith was 6 shots up at half way. It was getting boring!
That has to be one of the biggest nightmare holes in golfing history.

Would usually be glued to the final day of the Masters but these days my interest has waned somewhat.

Almost wishing I had watched it after hearing what unfolded though, great result for UK golf.

Loved the drama of it, felt sorry for Speith. I kept saying to myself I would watch one more hole, just then the meltdown occurred and I was totally glued.

Didn't expect that at all. All Speith had to do, it seemed, was keep on getting par.

Oh, dear.

Normally, the outgoing champion says a few words of congratulations to the new champion as he puts the green jacket on. You could tell that Speith didn't want to say anything in case he broke down.

Poor lad. Still, he's only 22.

Yes, an epic collapse enjoyed immensely by lovers of this particular sport everywhere.

Even better for Willet to take it all in his stride.
