I'm my defense I do go out on early morning rides. I get a shower when I get home then drive to work. I quite often need my car for business meetings / customer visits so I do have half an excuse to drive lol

Ha ha don't fall for that one. Hmm want need a better bike, these shoes could do with upgrading, ad infinitum................

Seriously though, it is a great time of year to start. Not too cold,hot,wet. 40 miles would be too much for an old timer like me but good on you.

Already had to convince myself I don't NEED a new groupset...
