R.I.P. Cronos

Cronos, front man of extreme metal pioneers Venom, died today

Though nowhere near as well known as other British icons of metal like Maiden, Priest or Sabbath, Venom had a massive influence on many bands.

This was one of their signature tunes.

Pure Spinal Tap!

Thanks.

I respect Venom for their influence but not necessarily for their talent. I was part of a single digit crowd during their prime evil tour in Birmingham. It was shite.

Still, always sad to hear of someone I have a greater than neutral feeling about dying.

Not 1% of Maiden, Preist or Sabbath. Pure shite is what they are.

I suspect it would be hard for anyone who has heard them to argue but they did influence the entire grunty, noisy side of modern metal. Not my thing but it has a significant following.

Kiss influenced Pantera but both brilliant classic metal.
