Brian Close has had a mention on our pages.So i thought i ought to remember my favourite footballer.It goes back to the 60's during xmas holidays,my dad would take me by bus to see his sister in Rotherham.After seeing her ,we would get over to watch Sheffield Wednesday,footballers were better in those days,to my younger eyes Ron flew through the air,stopping crosses and playing on terrible pitches.Because of him i played in goal during games periods and played in goal for a few pub teams.Thank you Ron.

Football , sorry, 'Soccer' boots. I turned on for La Vuelta a week or so ago, (Poland were playing Germany instead) and saw today's Corinthians playing in socks. I thought about the leaden leather balls and the cork studs....just a tad worn until sharp enough.Like the goalies blazer and tie
