Three time Epsom Derby winner and rider of the great Shergar passed away today at the age of 55, he was genius in the saddle and won many top races, gone way to soon.

He suffered from epilepsy after a heavy fall during a race in Hong Kong where he sustained very serious injuries,he made a comeback 6 months later but struggled to maintain his racing weight,
he eventually retired in his late thirties and took up training for a while .

Complications to do with his epilepsy is what one of my buddies still working in racing said.
