Pretty standard behaviour, IME. Lots of people seem to have a problem comprehending or caring that they should give priority to vehicles approaching from the right. Cyclists and ptws bear the brunt though...

Fortunately the last time this happened to me I happened to be a on a sharp downhill on the straight of a oval'ish shaped rab I managed to accelerate and overtake the car. To give the SMIDSY his due when I made eye contact before leaving the rab he made it back and made no complaints.

I find pointing at drivers often causes them to freeze like a rabbit in headlights. By the way, it's priority, not right of way.

I try to make solid eye contact on roundabouts and when signalling I almost give them a "stop" sign so they don't move, or I look and point at them. This stops some silly fart deciding far too late to try and go.

lol, did you get out of the wrong side of the bed this morning.

LOL, I'm not abusing you, I genuinely think it's important to differentiate. Too many people out there think it's "their right of way" and bugger anyone else. I know that doesn't apply to you of course, you're a good road user and would never assume it, but it might mean that to someone else reading this stuff.

It's a bit like calling a collision an "accident", they are not accidents after all.

Would I fail my driving test for saying that I had "right of way"? probably not.

I was thinking of starting a thread in cafe about cycling bees-in-bonnets, things you just can't let past. For example, with BM it's priority/right of way, with Bonj it's any mention of mudguards and with col it's anything posted by Maggers.;) My hobbyhourse is when people talk about a car doing something "The merc cut me up" etc. It's not the merc, it's the ba&@"rd who's driving it !

Right of way on roundabouts is a nightmare. An example of this happened to me on a motorcycle with a Police IAMS instructor right behind me. I entered a roundabout just before a white van entering the same roundabout to my right. Because he saw that the junction to his right was clear he speeded up coming on to and on the roundabout obviously practically catching up with me. He beeped me as to indicate that he had right of way - in some ways saying that that I should not have entered the roundabout before him if I was going to impede his progress around the roundabout. Obviously my instructor disagreed with him. Not the first time that I have seen this behaviour in car drivers.

Something similar to the folk who right turn on the inside lane of the roundabout and pull into the left lane as they exit as if it is a right of way and that no car etc on the outside lane could ever be in their way.

EMD! Dont forget to set your comments/channel comments up to "approve" if you're uploading vids like this. When the trolls get hold of it they send you all kinds of c**p that you end up having to delete, lol
