Personally I don't know the name as not really into MTB but passed away at 37 two days after winning Scottish Championships.

In one report it says was the partner of Katie Archibald.

I haven't put a link as the story came as a Daily Mail pop up and I know a lot of people have an aversion to that particular paper.

I'd not heard of him either but found story after seeing Katie's twitters.
Sad story and much too young.
He was on TV the day before, apparently showing no signs of illness.

Just saw this on the Beeb. What a terribly sad and traumatic experience to go through.
She is one of the pro cyclists around Manchester who always passes with a wave or smile. My thoughts go out to her.

Truly awful news, how terrible for his partner and family. To achieve so much and then be gone. What a shock.

This might sound a bit cold, but statistically he didn't have much of a chance, nine out of ten out of hospital SCAs don't survive, remember drago posting a few years ago about how he was involved in trying to save a neighbour's daughter?

My son was the lucky one who did survive over three and a half years ago as he was sat next to me when it happened, I called 999 straight away whilst Mrs stephec performed CPR until the ambulance arrived.

Katie is an amazing cyclist, but I reckon she has went through some tough times and I hope she comes through this in one piece. My thoughts also go out to her. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Ive ridden with him once before he moved to Glasgow a genuinely nice bloke and his relatively recent record attempt on the West Highland Way was epic.
