I saw an ad on Gumtree, 3 bikes, I am looking around for an old steel bike to fettle. Enlarging the pics showed a steel Raleigh & Falcon and a more modern ally Saracen..................

Seller:- "What bikes"?​

Me:- "The bikes in your Gumtree ad"​

Seller:- There (sic) not a £5 some one wanted to look at them"​

Me:- "Are the bikes for sale or not, if they are, what size are they"?​

Seller:- "Which ones are there"?​

Me:- "The bikes in your Gumtree ad...............what size are they"?​

Seller:- "Raleigh flyer needs inner tubes, Falcon need a new chain and gears looking at"​

Me:- "What size are these bikes"?​

Me:- WHAT SIZE ARE THE BIKES"?​

Seller:- "Saracen tour racing bike that (sic) in very good condition"​

Me:- "Forget it"​

Seller:- "Ok"​

There are a lot of Ebay listings like that, and when you contact them the sellers don't have a clue what you are on about.

The e bay ones are really good when they claim it's there pride and joy bike but then know sod all about it

My immediate assumption is that it's thieved
