Just this afternoon I was tarvelling down a road right besides the promenade. Two motorcyclists passed me with deep roaring engines. Up the road, I saw them filtering past a long line of traffic. When I got to the back of the line, they were at the front and only had a few more cars to pass.
I mounted my steed and chased after them. And caught up to them as they rounded a corner. They then slotted into the traffic as I followed.

When the traffic lights in front of us changed, I was prepared to chase them (we were all turning left) as the road was straight and true. However, They overtook some cars (which I wasnt expecting) so decided to play it safe and stay behind the cars.

Isnt it fun chasing motorcycles? These were more of the chopper/meaty sounding type and had flames all over (even on the grips). They were pretty cool.

There was one time last summer when I had a strong tailwind behind me. I was behind a MC and there was a lot of traffi built up along this wide stretch of road.
The MC took to the middle cross hatchings to filter and I followed. I was keeping up with them doing 30mph easily.

I really enjoy catching motorbikes. I think of them as cyclists but just a little faster.

im a little tea pot
Just reminds me of the tdf watching a rider gesticulating wildly at the bike cam on a twisty descent for holding him up!

There is a chicken chaser that struggles up a hill on my commute while im climbing it! Give me 2 more months and I'll be passing him up it!!!

Between contracts I worked for a few months as a motorbike courier ten years ago. I knew a lot of the bicycle couriers working there at the time. On one particular day I met one of them at a set of lights (busy junction otherwise no chance he would have stopped). Turned out we were heading for the same destination, a mile or two away so of course he said "race you!".

The lights changed, I left him in the roar of my illegal race exhaust, overtook a line of cars and stopped at the next set of lights... as he streaked past with hardly a pause. This game of leapfrog continued a couple of times until our final destination - me overtaking him and fitlering through lines of cars madly before being held up at traffic lights while he caught up and passed me on red.

I got there first but he was first through the door for the drop while I was fishing my package out of my top box.

Imagine how much fun could be had if all the vehicles ignored traffic lights....

Tried chasing planes yet?

I was a motorcycle courier in London for a while and often went to a university lecture in leathers and radio so I could work in the afternoon.

Living in Mile End and studying in Bloomsbury, my fastest journey to college was by bicycle.

Having said that, I was young. Red lights and kerbs meant little to me then when cycling. I didn't hang about on a motorcycle either, but red lights and pavements were off the menu.

Having said that, the sweep of steps outside St Pancras was on the menu and was a fine tedium-breaker on a nice, torquey 500cc trail bike.

Choppers are man's way of turning petrol into noise without any of the inconveniences of adding undue forward motion.
With the bonus of buckling your spine through lack of any rear suspension. I dislike both the look and image of choppers...but found riding one gave me the biggest grin...I can see the attraction

What I find really strange is, when I'm filtering through traffic (York road in Donny is usually stationary on my way home from work) and I pass a motorbike amongst the cars. More often than not, when I've passed them, I'll see them pull out behind me and follow me through the traffic. Maybe it peeves them off to see a HPV making better progress than them? As a very infrequent motorcyclist myself (prefer the push-bike) I don't really understand the non-filtering biker.
