Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
This is my station of choice, although I really can't listen to Steve Wright in the afternoon. There are some really good programs on in the evening and at weekends.

Much better music than all that noise. And the presenters on radio one must like the sound of they're own voices as they go on and on and........

There was nothing wrong with the Light Programme:angry:, a cornucopia of delight.
Archie Andrews,Wilfred Pickles, The Navy Lark, The Goons, Round the Horne, Top of the Form, Forces Favourites, Hancocks Half Hour, Life with the Lyons etc. etc. etc

Journey into Space was good as well. I've been enjoying the re-runs of it on R4 extra.

I tried waking up to Radio 3 for a while, but reluctantly concluded that it's only really practical if you don't actually need to wake up. Breakfast radio in this house is now Magic (not my choice), but if I put the wireless on myself it'll be either 6Music or "Absolute Radio 90s"

I think a large part of the 'problem' is that, following the explosion of local commercial radio and now the digital/internet age, there is so much choice of both music and presenters and the BBC appear to have gone for the 'lowest common denominator' factor (now there's a surprise !].

R4 ? J Humphries on Today prog is w-a-y past his Use-by date (so smug and thinks he is witty :headshake:) and some of the other stuff is very " wall to wall smug self-importance that is Radio 4" (© @ASC1951 ).

Go on, tilt your head!
I know its not aimed at someone my age (55)...but Jesus H Christ, what an utter pile of drivelling, jeuvenile, childish crud those presenters are in the afternoon.
They sound like grown men acting like giggling kids in the schoolyard, giggling over and over and over at the same thing.
Dont know who, dont know what show, but if theyre role models for kids...gawld help us all.
sorry, rant over.
That'll be Scott Mills then, probably playing innuendo bingo with his mate Chris.

Why listen to the radio at all, If'n I wanted to hear the opinions of some overpaid puerile turd, I'd go to my local pub, and stand by the bar. If'n I want to listen to music, I put on my Ipod shuffel or my CD player.

Can radio 1 please have Chris Evans for their breakfast show. Having him on Radio 2 is like having two Radio 1 breakfast shows - which idiot presenter to choose.

Radio 2 highlights are Jo Whiley in the evening. Grahame Norton an then Pick of the Pops on Saturday and then Johnny Walker on Sunday.
Low points - Chris Evans (of course) and Paul O'Grady (who seems to just read out letters from people who's pet has just died).

Don't get me started with Richard Bacon on 5live. The biggest vacuum in the universe can be found between his ears.

I haven't listened since Moyles left, some days I found him annoying but generally amusing. New chap is crap, tried listening a few times but just can't. Not ready for Radio 2, Evans is ok but I'm not ready to listen to my parent's music just yet. Need a Radio 1.5..

Don't forget that agony aunt, Graham Norton, utter drivel, I used to listen to the radio for music now we have celebraties pretending to be DJ's,
DJ,s forming not so funny double acts with the news/weather/traffic presenters.
Could never listen to Wogan, can't listen to Evans. Jeremy Vine should be on talk radio, Steve Wrights stuck in a time warp.

.

I still listen to Radio 2 selectively, Pop Master, (although Ken Bruce says things twice quite often, although Ken Bruce says things twice quite often,) Johny Walker and some of the night time folk & blues programmes.

Radio 6 is OK but the best uninterrupted listening is to be had on some of the internet stations.
