What do you think of this?

I have three bikes, neither of which meet my exact requirements which are:

Step through (ish) frame (to allow for skirts)
Pannier rack
Mudguards
kick stand
Adequate gears (for climbing up the very steep hill I live on)
Hydraulic Disc brakes (for adequate braking when going down the very steep hill I live on)
Ability for front rack and butchers crate (for carrying future small dog)
Hub dynamo

The only box this bike doesn't tick is the front rack, its got a suspension post, so probably wouldn't take a front rack.
Is this as close as I'm going to get to my ideal bike, or can you recomend something else.

Couldn't you just put a basket on the front?

Well, I want something very sturdy, after the current dog shuffles off, we're planning a cavalier king charles as replacemnt dog, which can go upto about 8kg, so thinking a properly supported big crate will be best.

No! Plan in the future is to tour with small dog. Tours will involve trains, which trailers are not condusive to. Dog has to fit in a big crate on bike!

I've never done it so can't comment from experience but isn't putting an 8kg (without crate) potentially moving animal over the front wheel slightly dangerous?

Not with the right rack/equipment. Movement of said dig would be somewhat more restricted than in the video.

I didn't look too bad in the video I must admit. Thought when it saw the other dog and leaned right over to the right that disaster was about to beckon!

I notice from the web site that there are two bolt holes in the lugs behind the axle. The front mudguard doesn't appear to use these. If you could find a way of supporting the top of the basket to the "U" of the suspension then that would work wouldn't it?

You'd have to relocate the front light to the bars so you'd be able to use that as your "top" mounting point.

I meant: are you gonna humph 8 kg of dog up the hill? Or down the hill for that matter. You are a brave lady to consider it!
