Hi guys - have a pretty big ride this sunday and surprise surprise the weather looks a bit dreary. I planned on wearing my new bib shorts (purchased specially for comfort over the 90 miles) but am wondering whether bib tights would be a better option?

Do you guys find it better in tights or shorts in the rain? Its supposed to be drizzly/rainy but i think it'll be somewhere between 10 and 16 degrees

I apologise in advance for the sillyness of this thread btw - its the biggest ride by far i would have ever done so my nerves are on super edge!

What if it is cold rain on a hot day?

(That's not actually quite as stupid as it sounds! I got caught in a freak storm once in mid-summer, which deluged me with water that was close to freezing. I was sweltering in light summer cycling kit one minute, the next I was shaking violently with the cold. Fortunately the storm blew over as quickly as it arrived so I soon warmed up again, but it would have been a different story if the rain had persisted.)

The place where you definitely DON'T want rainwater on a long ride is DOWN YOUR SHOES.

You have chance of getting Plantar Fasciitis.
All the rest of you will be fine.

Take two pairs of spare socks and a flannel.

Like most have said, it's temperature that decides this not whether it's raining or not. How about some leg warmers if you're undecided? Can easily take them off and store them if you decide that you're too warm?
