Basically my Aldi over-trousers are no longer waterproof at all.

So I either need new decent over trousers or change to wearing cheap cycling shorts and changing when I get in.

Which would you do and if over trousers which ones would you get?

Never found the need for overtrousers. Far too boil in the bag for me. Baggies all year round on the commute. They soon dry out after a rainy ride.

I'd wear shorts and hang them out to dry when i got to work. Taking a pair of shorts to wear for the days work.

Summer time shorts and ss top.
For a 15 minute commute when it's raining before you start?
Without the rain , for most people it would just be office clothes.

Quite dreadful
I've got a pair of Altura Night Visions. The fabric is pretty sturdy and you do get warm in the summer. They seem completely waterproof to me. In London, I'm really surprised at how rarely I need to wear them.

For short commutes I just use cheap walking overtrousers from millets over my work clothes. Not enough time to get hot and sweaty.

just passin' through
Depends how cold it is.

Baggies/bibs and bare legs if it's warm, otherwise I'd go for baggies/bibs with leggings, and overshoes to keep your feet warm, too.

Admittedly my current route is about 20 minutes, but in summer you wouldn't want to do it in office clothes - far too hot. I do ride in normal clothes most of the year though. I have spare clothes either at work, or in my bag. Once I thought I had some at work but I didn't. That day I bought new clothes from a shop near work. I wouldn't want to do that everyday though
