I got caught in the rain of the way home this afternoon. Nothing new there I hear you say however this rain was a downpour of biblical proportions!!!!

The roads were transformed into rivers with puddles of standing water that was almost hub deep in places. Cars were reduced to a crawl and chaos ensued. I just keep pedalling away and my journey only took a couple of minutes longer than usual. Soaked to the skin when I got home my wife made me strip off:ohmy: in the utility room before directing me to the shower. Now, a couple of hours later, looking back it was actually quite a fun experience and in the 14 months I've been commuting 2/3 times weekly by bike I think I've experienced almost every kind of weather

Several threads about the rain today. It has been loverly and sunny today in Oxfordshire. A bit chilly this morning and still a gusty wind (or is that the roasted vegetables I had for my tea?). Parts of my route have been flooded twice this week though.

The sun came out this afternoon and stayed out for the first time in the past two weeks that I've been on holiday from work !

I was sitting in the Pleasance courtyard (after being in the audience for the recording of Radio 4's brilliant "Count Arthur Strong's Radio Show") with some podcasters from the US drinking a couple of pints rather than out on my bike, though

Missed the rain (thank God!) but you're right... it was awful at times. Roads that never get wet on my commute were flooded. A real battle - and quite impressive to watch from the sanctuary of the office window too!

It turned out nice here. I extended my commute a bit to Leith. I was skeptical the good weather would last but coming back along the coast I could see that the skies looked good for a long distance. I hurried home and jumped on my Sirrus and did a quick 33 miles.
