Raising and extending a steering stem

Thank you all for the thoughts, I think I'll try one thing at a time and start with the bars as those currently fitted are steel and clearly past their best, so some alloy riser bars, Thorn have their 'comfort bars' which looks like a good start

I had pretty much the same issue and I went for riser bars and was more than happy with the outcome.

There are huge quill stems available from Nitto or Velo Orange.
