Hi guys,

Not been on for a while as have been a bit busy, picked up this Raleigh Caprice on Sunday, think it's 70's although the hub said 89.

Changed the tyres and given it a bit of a clean, lots of elbow grease still needed on the chainset, looking at changing the handlebars and brakes with another set I have which are in better condition.

It still has the original brooks saddle on, marked a little, but not damaged.

Before...

Are you sure it's not 68 on the hub?

I'd agree the 80s version had the faux loop frame. I did a full mechanical overhaul on an 83 one for a neighbour and was shocked at how well it rode.

Definately 5/89 on the hub, must have been replaced.

Been cleaning the rest of the muck off of the chain ring roday.

Tomorrows job is to fit a dynamo.

I've got a 1983 one. Only rode it once :shy:

Yes, the hub is working but the rim is totally rusted out in places, as in holes appearing, but the rest of the bike is in good condition.

Replaced it with an AW hub/wheel I had.
