What a beauty.New handlebar tape, saddle on. Been for a quick spin and the gears actually work. Falling in love with this bike already

It's not in perfect condition by any means, but there is something about it.
New chain, new tyres and new pedals should help a bit

No further on other than cleaning. I should have shares in Autosol - I'd make a fortune! The wheels are coming up pretty well. Front one is chrome, but the rear is something else. But coming up pretty shiny with a bit of effort 
Noticed a frayed cable earlier - another job for Mr Hop over Christmas

A final update (for now )
Wisp has been to the LBS and now has a seat stem that slides, a shiny new chain, new rear brake blocks, new gear cable, touring pedals, a couple of domed nuts for the rear wheel so it can go on the turbo trainer. Just fitted it with the rear rack off my old Saracen, so all is looking good.
It is now currently in place on the turbo trainer until the weather improves
