Just making sure that you know that the dust covers screw out? I didn't the first time I came across them and ended up braking one until my mate asked what the hell was I doing. This was when I first got into bikes though.
Couldn't get the freewheel off as my shimano tool would not fit, as it's needs a bigger tool. Took it to my LBS to see if they had a tool I could buy, but he took it of for me for £2 . Headset, pedals, gear cables/adjustment and handlebar tape tomorrow.
Looks like a nice useable project.
I can vouch for the green kitchen panscrubs,i am using them on the bike i am doing a rolling restoration project on.
Nice to work on older type bikes.
This from the Bearded Wonder http://www.sheldonbrown.com/freewheels.html
Shows what to look for on freewheel removal, for seven or eight pounds is handy to have
Unless you have already replaced the drivetrain or envisage having to do so.
HI.
I've got one of these - almost identical - and am about to embark on tidying it up. Just found out how to date it - the first digit is the year...so a 3 would be 1973 etc. I think the second letter refers to the month as well.
