I often find out random facts, just from conversations and such like. Today I learned that Coca Cola would be green coloured, if the brown colouring wasn't added to it.

The easternmost state of the USA is Alaska. I was blown away when I read that.

Alaska is the westernmost state in the USA (it's also the northernmost). Maine is the easternmost state.

The suggestion that it is the easternmost is based on a misunderstanding of the way that the international dateline works around the Aleutian Islands.

They are islands admittedly (like this one off of Google Earth) west of the 180 degree line, so not the mainland but it's still Alaska so I'm having it!

Unbeknown to me, someone once p*ssed in my Pot Noodle at Uni. in 1981; they've never tasted quite the same ever since.

It may have added to the taste rather than diminished it. It would be hard to tell.
