i'm 6'4" and don't have a problem.....it used to be cigarette lighters at gigs...
Cigarette lighters waved in front of face = problem.
Hands waved in front of face = problem.
Phones and other devices held up to video/photograph events = problem.
Big flags waved in front of face = problem.
Women in the way on shoulders of partners = damn big problem.
Talking instead of listening = problem.
Singalongs = (almost always) problem.

And for those reasons ... I'm out! :thumbsup:

Coming to the local open mic night at the pub Colin?
The biggest gig that I ever went to was at the Odeon, New St, Birmingham. That was big enough to be quite exciting but small enough that I still felt that I could see what was going on and was part of something.

I have been to a few gigs at the Trades Club in Hebden Bridge which is only big enough to hold a few hundred people. That's great for atmosphere, but I wish that they would sort the PA out. It is far too bloody loud and distorts a lot. I stood next to a friend and shouted directly into his ear but he still couldn't hear me. I don't see why a drummer needs to be amplified when he is only 6 feet in front of me!

Since I got ill, I can't take loud noises, musical or otherwise, and I can't stand up for long periods of time either so I don't think that I will be watching live music again for a year or two. I struggle to even watch action movies now because I start to feel frazzled after a few minutes.

I went to a few smallish John Martyn gigs which were really good. I watched the Specials play Coventry Technical college before they made a name for themselves - that was great. Unfortunately, I drank too much and fell asleep at a pre-fame Dexys Midnight Runners gig at Warwick university, but my mates said that was a fabulous performance. Small is beautiful - stadium gigs and festivals never appealed to me!

Something that really boils my **** is people who film or photograph EVERYTHING they see and do. It's the equivalent of facebooking or Twittering every mundane thing that happens on a bigger, more aggravating scale. There were people last night at Wimbledon filming the entire Murray semi-final from where they sat. Similarly, people doing the same at Glasto last week. There was an annoying scrote who tried that in front of us at our shrine once but we 'suggested' in no uncertain terms where he'd be better off putting his filming machine contraption thing. We saw Lee Scratch Perry earlier in the year mocking those who put a barrier (their camera/mobile phone/i-pad) between themselves and the experience of the great man on stage. It's as though people can only make sense of things they see on a screen. Just be aware, oh you filmers who believe they are chronicling their passage through life, that you twook like a lat (Sp).
you could just confuddle their minds by holding one of these up throughout a gig

We have been to many gigs over the years and I do get annoyed by people who talk (shout) to be heard. I don't want to hear you, if you want to talk go outside don't shout and spoil things for the rest of us! We didn't pay to hear you :ninja:
There is still hope as long as people don't start doing it on bikes as well. :ohmy:
I did it and was riding with no hands, went over a speed bump and promptly crashed.
If I could be bothered I would upload the video of said incidence of numptyness.
