Very lazy from the BBC, stating that Rangers were "demoted". As I understood it they ceased to exist and another club got to start a few leagues higher than is normal simply because it had a similar name and played at the same stadium.

Loyalism is a choice unlike all the options covered by the hate speech laws. You can't change the colour of your skin but you can choose not to be a bigoted sectarian Sevco-following farkwit.
Here to help![]()
What I understand cannot be a lie. I may be mistaken, of course. But I think legally it is quite clear that the 'Rangers' that was formed in 1872 does not exist anymore.
What makes you think that opinion is "lies and bull sh1t"?
When a company is liquidated its business activities cease to exist. The business of Rangers FC Plc was football. When Rangers FC Plc was wound up, so were the football activities of Rangers FC Plc i.e. the football club and associated merchandising etc. The BBC recognised this fact when they observed that “The Rangers Football Club PLC is a public limited company registered in Scotland (company number: SC004276) and was incorporated on 27 May, 1899. When the current company is officially liquidated, all of its corporate business history will come to an end.” https://scotslawthoughts.wordpress....ers-fc-guest-post-by-johnbhoy/comment-page-1/
You say legally it is quite clear Rangers that formed in 1872 do not exist , To be fair legally no football club exists , I believe the Company that runs the club only exists as a legal entity and the club/business is an asset of that company .
Just announced - Ally McCoist has resigned.

Hong Kong is slow
What do you mean started a few leagues higher? , they started at the bottom , not demoted as you say though .
Was there ever any chat about them going all the way down to the South of Scotland League? I don't remember (and I doubt it would have been more than wishful thinking by Sellick), plus I don't think the 'pyramid' was properly in place until this season.
The new team started in Division Three - rather higher than any other new team might have expected to start. What do you mean started a few leagues higher? , they started at the bottom , not demoted as you say though .

I doubt this would of been on the cards back then .
I wonder if say Hibs went bankrupt where they would start from now though ?
Actually they started in the 2nd division , there is no division 3 !
Yeah I'm sure I'd have remembered. A move like that would have been mental, even for the clowns that run the game.
