In truth, you've all been much kinder than I was expecting, I might show this thread to my family!
It is slightly wonky and some of the cuts are a bit off but that was, as I intimated, deliberate. I wanted to do some angled cuts, some lap joints and just generally bring my measuring and marking up to speed before I build my deck. The dimensions were in part fixed by the wood I had available, hence the feet being the width they are. I discovered my hand sawing is more accurate than the jigsaw, that if I'm careful I can use a chisel quite well, that I sometimes completely misread measurements and cut the wood too long or too short, that I don't always remember which side I marked and then wonder why it doesn't fit until I turn it around, that if I'm struggling with something, a cup of tea and a ponder works wonders and that pre-drilling wood stops it splitting when you use screws.
I could have built a much simpler table but the purpose was not just to build a table. I think I might make some more adjustments and then stain it.
