Interesting that after Pog was out, UAE did not have any up and coming GC contenders, with their best placed being 29th. Almost like they either gave up, or it is Pog or nothing. Visma having a depth of talent even without Vinegaard.

I think they were probably expecting Almeida to be a GC contender when they originally put their GT rosters together. I'm not sure many people predicted how bad a season he'd have.

Jay Vine's had a pretty rank season too with multiple DNFs after his storming start down under. I'd have expected him to go on a stage winning rampage in the second half of the Vuelta, regardless of whether Pog was there or not.

Maybe there's something in the water over at UAE that's causing burn out after a couple of strong years (Pog excepted).
