Regarding the cost, it's true, you'd think it was worth perhaps £1k...but reality has sliding these last few years..my GD brought a rather tatty 2013 Pug 107, high mileage, cost £2.5k...far more than I thought it was worth, but it was pretty typically priced she said...

An old R56 Mini, definitely best avoided, that one is an LCI model which is slightly better, but basically it’s a 14 year old Mini, they may be pretty, desirable little things with an appealing face but they’re big trouble, I speak from bitter experience.

Your £2800 would be better spent on a Yaris or a Jazz. The Japanese manage to make cars that are still reliable when they’re 15 years old.

I adored my Mini electric. Sadly I needed the cash to buy my camper. Probably the only car I really regret saying goodbye to.
Look at this one I spotted today:becool:  :okay:

Another expensive cabriolet with the roof closed on a warm summer's day though! Why have a cabriolet and not open the roof I ask?!

Why must we 'rate this car'?? This is a bicycle forum. Can't you rate it??
If you don't know that it's 14 years old and has 113,475 miles on the clock, and is worth a fraction of the asking price do you really need us to rate it for you?

Er, because I wanted advice about it. That's why we have public forums, so we can ask, discuss and then make decisions. And as my CC buddy @Drago pointed out, this section is about motoring, even though CC in general is recognised as a forum for cyclists!🧐

Thanks to all for the MOT information and thoughts about this car. You have potentionally saved me a fair amount of money, as I now end my interest in even thinking about asking for a test drive in it. :okay:

We were chatting cars with some friends this afternoon and we’ve all owned lots of BMW group cars and agreed that they’re great to drive but a nightmare to own, especially when out of warranty.

If I had to buy another used car tomorrow, I’d probably buy another MK7 Golf, they just seem to take big mileages really well, not much seems to go wrong with them. The GTD especially is just a brilliant all round car, we had ours 9 years and did 125000 miles without any drama.
