TOYOTA YARIS - Check the MOT history of a vehicle – GOV.UK

I'm looking for the car's milage, but can't seem to find it.🤔

Ah, I've just found it.
100,331. Looking at other Yaris's of the same age, its price seems to be similar to most. Will it have reversing sensors though? The car seems bigger than the usual sized cars I tend to buy, so reverse parking would be a problem at the best of times, but a bigger car would/could be a serious problem!!🙄

Aygo's are fine but at that age check underneath for rust, especially rear sill near wheel arch. Front bumper will need a respray - it's a common issue on that ago, the paint goes on the front bumpers as the lacquer peels off. Aygo's and their Pug/Citroen versions leak around the boot, and that one would suggest the seal on the rear lights needs replacing. Common leak points are rear lights, boot rubber seal, rear high stop light and the two bump stops for the boot hatch. All easy to fix, but it's not something you can leave.

The Yaris is a better drive, again you need to check underneath cars of this age as it depends if the previous owner(s) ever washed off the underside - road salt left on causes loads of issues. A Yaris isn't all that big - it's wider than the Fiat, possibly a smidge longer.

Yaris is a more mature drive, but not necessarily "better". The triplets are arguably more fun to hook about in.

Its a bit less economical than its triplet cousins, and a touch more on insurance and in some cases (engine and transmission dependent) tax.

All the triplets were prone to cabin leaks, but the Aygo was worse by dint of a different and even less secure rear light design. Upper sheet metal was also different and Aygos were more prone to leaks around the doors than its siblings, and Toyota tried some horrendous tricks under warranty to fix it.

But there werent all like that, and any that were would have probably rotted away long ago. Nevertheless, still worth a good interior poke and prod. For my sins I was VP of the CityBug Club for a few years.

I've just been down to the car dealer's. I'm having a test drive in that Toyota Yaris on Thursday and in this one, on the same day!

Its MOT history isnt bad. A smattering of advisories for bilbs, wipers, nothing too tragic over the years.

Only point worth mentioning is the NSF damper is weeping. Mr MOT says the damping is also compromised, yet didnt fail it. Either way, if you buy it you want a coupla ton off for new front dampers and top mounts.

Foss is right, the brakes look scabby, but that is only cosmetic. It would irk me though. Fortunately Mr MOT has never mentioned corrosion on the cars structure or sub frame.

Your 500 is probably lighter and more fun to drive, but the Adamski probably a better and more cosseting ride.

Check how many carbons it is as some of the motors aren't super efficient and I know you have an aversion to paying more than 3s6d for car tax.
