I saw it yesterday, parked outside a pub/bar. The owner was sat outside having a 🍺. I asked him if I could take some photos for a forum I post on, with him saying yes. He said it was made in 2020, hence the modern components and that almost new look.

Nice looking retro there, with a few modern improvements. Seen quite a few over this way, made in India now I believe.
The wife has a nephew who has a RE Interceptor 650cc, nice looking bike but quite a heavy lump.
Some time back I heard they might start manufacturing here in Thailand, guess to avoid import duties and make them affordable.
Watched some reviews on the modern RE bikes, they do seem quite capable for their intended audience.

PS - I think characterful traits such as oil leaks and reliability issues are a thing of the past now.
You even get spoiled with leccy start and electronic ignition :okay:

Pleased that the oil leak quip did not go straight through to the keeper!

How come it’s got that style registration plate?

It goes better with the look.

Not legal though, is it? That vanity plate might be from a vehicle from the early 70s but unless the vehicle itself was registered before the cut off date of 1 Jan 1971, the plate isn't road legal. I expect he puts a legal yellow reflective plate on to get through MOTs. As for "the look", he seems to be getting away with it up to now. At least it's taxed and MOT'd.
