rear brake problem

i have a cannondale supersix evo with ultegra and the rear brake lever is very stiff to operate and graunchy..

any ideas....

tried bit of gt85

Check the cable, make sure it isn't frayed, then maybe check out the inner, make sure it hasn't worn, been folded, had the ends crimped etc...

is it the lever or the brake calliper? Disconnect the cable and isolate where the problem is

As Pikey says it's most likely the cable.

Remove it completely and see if the lever moves freely, if it does then whack a new cable in.
