I bought a Kona Roast in '99 - totally standard. Recently some scumbag stole my back wheel. So I bought a standard wheel with 135mm hub. But, it seems that my bike needs a 150mm spacing. Odd, 'cos Kona say they never produced a Roast with that spacing. My local Kona dealer is totally stumped as he has been talking to Kona and Shimano and they both deny ever producing anything at the time in that spec. The frame's even been checked to see if it's been forced out and it is totally true.

Anyway, I've got a weird frame with no back wheel. Problem is I've been told that 150mm hubs come with 12mm diameter axles and mine is 10mm. Does anyone know

1) if Kona made such a frame?
2) if there is a 150mm hub with a 10mm axle that I could get?

I see my options at the moment as:

1) Selling the frame
2) Drilling out the dropouts to 12mm

Any suggestions?

hub re-build

basically take the hub appart, get a 150mm body and a 10mm axle and mate the two together,

personally i'd speak to hope technology as they do custom jobs but might make one in the size you require. www.hopetech.com
