Does anyone have any recommendations for a rear light that will mount onto a rack, rather than a seat post. I can't seem to find one so any advice greatfully received.

You can get a rack mount for Cateye lights:

Blackburn Mars 4.0 is a very bright 1 watt light, which comes with a rack mount in the package. Fairly solid mounting system, although I had to drill a hole in my rear rack to accommodate it!

Been using it for almost 4 months now with no issues.

I have one from Decathlon. It's a combined reflector/light and fixes to the holes where the reflector was attached to the rack.
I like it because it's permenantly attatched and you don't have to remove it to replace the batteries.
It only has one LED though (which I didn't realise til after purchase) though it still seems quite bright, probably due to the large surface are and the reflective surface.
I've seen loads of better ones on amazon since I got mine.

There's also a smart light bracket you can get (fits most lights other than cateye ones really)
