Where I work they have dug the road up to re-surface which needed doing. Leaving work tonight heading for the suicide patch I mis-judged a raised manhole cover which was hidden by all the water on the ground. I hit the cover with force which made the rear tyre bang and got an instant flat plus on inspection found the rim to be out of alignment. I was able to shelter under a nearby roadbridge and tackled the problem only to have a flat again half a mile from home. I didnt have a spare innertube and only managed to repair the split to get me most of the way home. It had to happen on a horrible wet evening as well.

I will say though a big thanks to the two cyclists that stopped and asked if I had everything I needed or need a hand which was reassuring and makes you feel part of something special. Im on my commuting bike no.2 tomorrow while I repair the rear wheel etc.

Unlucky, bicyclos! It's all part of life's rich tapestry.
Good to see that some cyclists stopped to offer help. Yorkshire hospitality, that is.
