There are two things I think that have slowed up my commuting- I hit my cycle target last year- 3000 miles in a year (I know it's not much for some) but afterwards I sat back with an air of contempt and felt a lack of motivation to try to reach my new target once the new year came around.
Also I read somewhere January had 23 days of rain- not exactly encouraging. Got back on it today though- hope the sun holds out.

I'm in exactly the same position - washed out in more ways than one

Don't think, Do!

If it's piddling down and blowing a gale, just put on the most appropriate gear you have. Shake your fist at the heavens, and go!!

And remember, smile at your fellow commuters as they look in awe/amazement/disbelief/envy at the cycle commuting god that you surely are.

I'll try again later.....

Have I rebooted my commute? Well 6 months into my new one after moving I know which is the best way, and which roads to avoids at certain times. Still whittling down the time spent on it with little shortcuts or a better route,

I don't have any mileage targets. However, not cycling would either
1. Take an age to walk
2. Cost me a lot on fuel and parking
3. Cost me on bus fares and a lot of time standing around waiting for buses

Cycling is a no-brainer for me, and my commuter bike has already paid for itself and saved me lots of time.

I've no mileage targets either, as I'll hit 3000 miles simply by commuting everyday. I think a target would take the fun out of it.

Here for rides.
I need to find a better way to resist the triple temptations of a boss who drives past my front door, the in-car meetings are useful, a son-in-love who drives from my front door, and a railway station 100m from the front door.
