Of to Belgium in a couple of weeks time, found a few places to go to, can anyone suggest some places of interest they have come across, there looks to be a lot of places of interest on the internet, but it would be good to get some feedback from people who have been there.
Thanks Del.

Bruges is good, as is Ghent. More than that I'm struggling with.
I've been toying with the idea of riding the complete length of the coast for a while, as you can do it with the wind behind you then get the tram back.

Veurne is a nice little place near the French border, Monschau is 100 metres into Germany at the other end. Some nice cycling north of Verviers and over the Dutch border.

Bruges. The ultimate strollable city - essentially untouched for 400 years from medieval times.

one of the readily available local guide books has two great walking tours, on round the standard sites and one some lesser known but facinating sites.

To drink: Bierbrasserie Cambrinus beer menu the size of an encyclopedia and good well priced food

Any of the above, if they are interesting i would like to know.
OK

Brugge was interesting but a bit too old really.

Antwerp
The Port of Antwerp has an interesting exhibition room open to the public.

Flandria cruises operate interesting cruises around the dock area, http://www.flandria.nu/nl/activiteiten/rondvaarten/ check the best before dates on the liferafts first, they were well expired last summer:sad:.
I found the diamond district(diamantkwartier) of Antwerp interesting, also the schipperskwartier if windows are your thing.
I considered the Central station to be an impressive building worth a look. Also the Sint Anna tunnel which takes you and your bike under the river Scheldt. By cycling into and out of the lifts, you don't even need to dismount.
The Grote Markt is interesting, but not that much different from other centres of mainland European cities.

Enjoy yourself:smile:
