recommend a good scanner?

I've got an HP scanner,and it's crap. It takes ages to start up, and if you scan more than a couple of docs one after another it packs up.

So: can anyone recommend a flatbed (documents mostly) scanner, Windows XP compatible, for less than £100.00?

+1 for CanoScan - they're the hounds cojones. But if budget's any kind of an issue, I'd checkout ebay and go for any of the range (Lide 20/25/30/50) They're all really good, they don't break down, you should be able to get one 'as new' for £25 or less. I have, twice.

IMHO, I'd say Cannon for scanners, HP for printers. Every time!
