I made a wooden one for GTi junior, painted it British Racing green then scrounged some stickers from a bike shop so it looks real kewl. The runners are exactly the right thickness to take plastic U shaped channels from a DIY shop so it slides down the slope like poop through a goose, a lot faster and better steering that those cheapo plastic tray things.

A sheet of Lino will get u to a high speed pretty quickly, just don't expect to be able to steer. At all. Or stop. Without the help of an immovable object. Dinner trays are good if u can find 1 in the size u want.
