Recommend an unlimited broadband provider

As Sky have decided to introduce a 10gb monthly limit unless I stump up another £5 a month for unlimited (and as I can't be bothered using a usage tool to monitor how much the 3 computers in our house gobble up between them), I'm thinking of jumping ship to another ISP. It needs to be one that offers unlimited use though.

Any happy customers out there like to recommend their ISP for this purpose?

Sky is (or was) the only company that offered true unlimited broadband, although there are some good deals out there, they all do have usage restrictions to them.

So make sure you read the terms and conditions closely, as well as looking for the usage policy and reading that.

Be Internet have so far proven to be the dogs dangly bits.
Reasonably cheap, very high speed and (so far) totally reliable.

By far the best ISP I've ever used - only downside is no email address as std.

O2 LLU service ( if your exchange is enabled for it ) is top notch. They are pretty much the same as *Be, same company but a different name. As far as I know, *Be can be tweaked slightly more easier by the user in their router settings than O2 can. This can be useful if you are into playing online games and would like to tweak your connection for less lag and low pings.

I'm on the "Up to 20 meg" Premium O2 service and I get @18 meg sync speeds. It's £14.68 a month and new customers get the first 3 months free as far as I recall. They have no advertised limits or monthly caps and even though they have a Fair Usage Policy I've downloaded 20-30Gb per month every so often and not heard a peep out of them. The other good thing with O2 is absolutely no traffic shaping. Connection rates are good and customer support is very good. UK based support so its not like a call centre abroad is what you end up getting through to.

I would however, stress that I'm talking about the LLU service. The exchanges that are not LLU enabled run O2 Access. Stay well away from it!!. It has gone downhill big time lately and is now a very poor service indeed, judging by the amount of complaints on forums all over the internet, inc O2's own message boards. Access runs off the back of BT's own equipment within exchanges unlike LLU which is equipment owned and installed by O2 themselves.

I've just signed back up with O2 for another 12 months, my first year is just up. They also offered 3 months free for signing back up with them so there is a nice wee saving already!.

It is easier to tweak. All 7 Derby exchanges are O2/Be LLU. The ones outside aren't that many though.

I moved from Pipex (they went totally downhill after Tiscali took over) to Be.

I'd give Be a go - they're pretty damn good and the support is second-to-none. On top of that, there's support from the Be Users Group who are a pretty seriously brilliant set of 'experts' unconnected to the company.

Yep Be are the dogs danglies, been great. The likes of Pipex, Eclipse etc were the best back in the day, but Tiscali soon fooked that up. Even Zen are not the value for money they once were, been with them all
