The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
I went back to a Campag Veloce chain after this happened to an X10SL after less than 200 miles .....

According to wiggle the X10 is 6.2mm

The connex-wipperman sx10 I had on my old bike were 5.9mm

Personally, I wouldn't get this one as the extra 0.3mm might cause noise (if wiggle is right of course)

I'm fairly sure that KMC X10 chain is 5.88 mm wide. They used to be 6.2mm a few years ago, but KMC reduced the width.

- not the 10 speed ones. As I said I join them using a KMC link.
What do you mean by 'fiddly', smokeysmoo? Do you mean visually or physically? I think the KMC chain I had problems with was a 'friday afternoon' one. I would have returned it to the supplier, but I had bought it on offer at a good price and kept it 'in stock' for a couple of years before using it. AFIK it was fitted absolutely correctly, but started to fail well under 200 miles - I thought the indexing was out when the chain started skipping, and was surprised to find the sideplate damaged - noticed when lubing the chain. Lucky I caught it before it failed completely.
