I really like Picasa for simple stuff - cropping, straightening, red eye removal and effects like B&W.
It also does a great job at keeping my photos organised, and I can still use GIMP or suchlike for anything more complicated.

Same. Excellent for free and does the simple stuff easily.

I was using Picasa but for some reason it stopped letting me edit my photo's ?
I'm going with Gimp and see how that goes.

If you can't get your head around GIMP, and you need a little more power than Picassa can provide, I can thoroughly recommend Picnik.

It's pretty easy to use straight off, but I would recommend watching the excellent Youtube tutorials to get the best from it
