I would always vote for orchids but I am biased

Fair weathered, fair minded but easily persuaded.
I have 2 orchids. I only water them once every other week although one, due to how the roots have grown actually sits in water. This goes against all Orchid growing advice but this plant has flowered all year so it must like it.

There's ten orchids in our house, they can all go for a few weeks without a drink.

I have 18, but 8 are still babies so won't start flowering for a couple of years however 3 of the grownups are flowering and 2 more are budding,so we have flowers for a long period of time :okay:

Posting here because i didn't think it fitted into sportive and Audaxing,..

I am looking for a very low maintenance houseplant, if you read the title you know this already,
It needs to be able to survive being left alone for 7-8 days at a time?

All suggestions gratefully received...

Not enough info...... Height? Spread? Flowering? Colour? Light levels? Average temperatures in the house.......

Orchids absorb light and heat through their roots which is why they should be in clear plastic pots with good drainage, bearing in mind they are actually parasites and grow on trees, they absorb the nutrients they need whilst protecting themselves in the shade away from the full sun. As pretty as yours looks, the flowers are sprayed so when they die the new flowers will most likely be white, personally I wouldn't buy them.

The dying of the flowers is mentioned on the label in small print so tiny it would even embarrass a solicitor. It would easily catch out the unaware.

That one was a £1.50 reduced job from Tesco, it's still holding it's flowers a month later.
