I have been wearing some shorts for years that were amazing value about 10 quid a par with a really good synthetic shammy and leg grips etc however they are on their last legs. It is har to shop for new ones as there is so little on offer at high stret store (which is the way of the world and everything is so high priced. So aia m looking for a recomendation of some great value shorts in an XXL size.

Planet X ones seem to get good press (bib only these days),
https://www.planetx.co.uk/products/planet-x-pro-line-365x-bib-shorts
or the better Decathlon ones.
eg waist https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/men-s...ck-blue/_/R-p-332673?mc=8644185&c=black_black

Evans usually have a decent selection in their larger stores if you have one where you can try.

You can also find good reductions online if prepared to take a punt, eg on Sport pursuit (but you have to pay delivery & return costs potential), You won't find for a tenner though, I'd say minimum £20-40 for anything reasonable.
or Merlin eg https://www.merlincycles.com/northwave-force-2-cycling-shorts-151458.html
Of course you have the choice for waist or bib.
And remember an XXL in one brand like Castelli is probably more like a L in Altura so you'll need to try on! Unless you mean Italian racing snake XXL rather than M&S British bloke XXL

If you want great value you can't do much better than go down to your local charity shop and buy a pair of cotton shorts.
I've got some Humvees (80 squid now I think) which are great but honestly the Obruni Wahoo shorts I get from the market here for a couple of quid are almost as good. I buy the cargo style for cycling.
If you want shop bought Decathlon stuff is as good as any.

Irt is more for the shammy side of thingd thanks

I'd check Ebay and FB marketplace. Plenty on Ebay for £10 or less.
Also these look o.k.https://cycle-clothing.co.uk/product/the-new-rayas-shorts/ I actually know the guy that owns this company and hes a nice decent guy.
You could put an ad on Freecycle and you might get someone who wants to give a pair away. I've given loads of stuff away before now.

Everyone is a different shape so what one person thinks are a good bib short could be the worse ever for someone else. Sizing is also inconsistent and IMO there ought to be a more detailed dimensions requirement specfying key elements. You can get bib shorts that waist wise are similar but strap lengths are totally different.
