.....some electric hair clippers please. What's good out there?

I haven't had my hair cut since before Lockdown proper. With the virus on the rise I think I missed my chance now. So thinking of a DiY job.

I've had various makes and types of hair clippers but these have been the best by far, Babyliss Titanium clippers. I've had to junk all the previous ones.


Its rechargeable and lasts for ages. I didn't buy it but I think it's about £90. Highly recommended.

I use one like this though it has no trimmer bit. Not sure which model as I use the one we bought for the dog. But they are the same just branded up different.

I have Wahl Essential hair clippers. Had them ages so not sure if they still make this model.
Wahl do many different clippy things, including Grooming Sets if you need ears & nostrils trimmed, too.

SWMBO does mine and has done for 20 years. Some form of Remington clippers. No3 all over with No 2 at the front, where there is hardly any left.

I got some cordless Wahl ones from the bargain bin at Argoos 7 or 8 years ago.

Cost me £1.

Number zero twice a week, who's a pretty boy then?

Wahl are good. I've nearly always done my own hair, I never have to pay more than about 20-30 pounds for a set of Wahl with all the combs, scissors etc and they last about 5 or 6 years with an average about 24 cuts per year. My current set are called a Wahl Power-plus home haircut kit, not sure if they still sell this one as they change the name and the cosmetic design seemingly every year, but they're good clippers whatever they call them.

I've had a few different brands in the past, only chopped and changed due to losing them, moving house etc. They have all been very much the same, as long as you keep the blades clean and oiled.
