Yes. I stealth camped there last year and it was a BEAUTIFUL experience - see here http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/france2009v2

I also camped last weekend at this site http://www.churchfarmcandcpark.co.uk/ (been here lots before) and it is perfect - brand new heated toilet block, wifi, bar/food but still a quiet place with no privet hedges dividing things up. he has a couple of other fields you can go in if it is busy but I have never seen it full up

For a nice gentle ride, I can recommend the Kennet and Avon canal. I did the 60-odd miles home from the other side of Bedwyn last September, it was a lovely ride.

Let us know where and when and we'll meet up for a beer. ;)

Ridgeway? Otherwise the various NCN routes are good. Avebury, Stonehenge, Silbury Hill and the other prehistoric sites in the area are definitely worth a tour.

wouldnt recommend the ridgeway. i was on it today, had to turn back when the track became impassable on my touring bike

yep the question mark was because the original poster hadn't said what sort of bike [edit: should have read the blurb in his signature].

Most of the Ridgeway is doable on a hybrid or MTB, but certainly when i last did it, the descent to Avebury was very rutted.
