About to change my Record 10sp bottom bracket and wondered if i have the necessary tools for the job. I have the Park crank puller and the Park BBT-5 which does the BB and cassette lockring for the Campag cassettes. Also have a good adjustable wrench for the BB nut.

As a bit of a novice when it comes to wrenching, what else do I need? And can anyone recommend a good 3/8inch torque wrench, Campagnolo recommend 70nM for the bb - really? That much? Thanks ......

get yourself one of these babies, a snip at only £600 :becool:

I was toying with the idea of replacing my bb but I've chickened out and booked it in the LBS - too much to go wrong for a novice like me

Not needed unless the shell is knackered! This is what you want http://www.parker-international.co.uk/c/229/Tools---Torque-Wrenches.html

Removing the old BB should be fairly straightforward. I always clean the thread up afterwards and then it's a simple matter of reverse process to isntall the new BB - I've never used a torque wrench (it's a SPANNER! The septics have wrenches.) - tighten it until it is very tight and add a little bit more  Stop just before it breaks LOL.
