Has anyone packed their recumbent to take them on an aeroplane?

Was there much difference to packing a DF or any unexpected problems?

Thanks I'm a DF guy myself. I think most airlines would want it stripped down as small as possible with no stickyout bits, and they would probably charge more than a DF unless you could get it in a bike box.I do'nt know how heavy they are but most bike allowances are 32Kg.

I've done this a few times. I get two bike cartons from a local dealer and after removing the end bits slide them together. I compress the bike as much as I can (removing and reversing the seat if practical. Generally try to leave the wheels in as I think they are better protected that way. Never had a problem with this method.
