With my job being a HGV driver, you can imagine that i spend alot of time out on the road, so i get to see alot of weird or unusual things

One thing that cheered my night shift up last night was when i was taking my 45 min tacho break, here i was sitting in a lay-by on an industrial estate

about 22:20 just with my feet up relaxing, for only to have my attention stolen away from me by what looks like 2 traffic cones on the move....

Anyway, i watch these traffic cones for a few minutes coming around a fence, and as it passed me i realised, some little scrotum has actually gone

and stolen/recycled traffic cone lights and selotaped them to the front and back of his BSO (looked like some apollo "£2.99 thing with massive oversized forks that obviously do nothing but make you pedal harder and go slower), now i think this man may have a point about lighting!

Why should us cyclists go out and invest our own money into lighting when this young fella obviously has a better idea! make your bike look like a

traffic cone! car drivers dont like hitting cones as they make a mess of paintwork, so surely that should apply to cyclists? id imagine if someone

knocked me off, id bloody make a mess of the paintwork, let alone the driver!

Anyway thats my cheerful little story from last night which kept me amused for 15 mins!, anyone else seen anything weird or usual when they've been out riding or such?

Excellent story!

I have seen people with a red to the front and white to the rear - I have to assume it's a deliberate act, since no one could be that stupid by accident surely? (I do wonder if it's a tactic to make drivers look twice, and as such clever, but I think the potential for confusion is worse)

I'd like to see that chap actually wearing a cone for a hat too, especially round Halloween, a hiviz witch!

BTW last Halloween I went on a night ride to Whitby on the trike, and hung a cloth pumpkin-shaped bag from my flagpole, illuminated from within by a back up light. Others on the ride said it was quite effective and eerie, bobbing about as I rode.
